Since April 2026 fresh fruit has been An Supply's sixth product group, alongside coffee, cashew kernels, herbs and spices, processed cashew and rice. One thing about this group works differently from the other five.
Why this group
The quote requests for fresh fruit came from the same buyers already taking An Supply's coffee and cashew kernels. They have distribution in their own market and wanted another item from the same counterpart rather than opening a new relationship in Vietnam.
The second reason is that An Supply already does the hard part of this group in the others: choosing the source in the growing area, checking quality lot by lot, preparing documents and dealing with a lot that has a problem. Fresh fruit needs exactly those things, only everything happens in days rather than weeks.
How it differs from the other five groups
The first five groups all go through a partner factory for processing: roasting, milling, cleaning or packing. Fresh fruit is not processed. An Supply buys straight from the growing area, grades and cartons the fruit at a coded packing facility, then loads it into a reefer container or onto a flight.
- Certification belongs to the growing area and the packing facility, not to a partner factory as in the other groups.
- Prices move weekly rather than by crop, so quotes are valid for a short window.
- The cold chain and phytosanitary inspection take the place of a processing specification table.
That changes how an order is closed. With coffee or rice a buyer can sign and then wait for a milling or bagging slot. With fruit, An Supply quotes weekly, the buyer confirms the lot, and only then is the cutting schedule in the growing area booked. From confirmation to loading is usually a matter of days, so most of the negotiating happens before that: agreeing fruit size, ripeness at packing, carton specification and the tolerance on appearance.
With fresh goods the decisive work is not in a factory, it is in choosing the right growing area and holding the temperature.
Starting with five items
The group opens with white-flesh dragon fruit from Binh Thuan, Cavendish banana and rambutan from Dong Nai, R2E2 Australian mango from Khanh Hoa, and green skin pomelo from Ben Tre. These five have growing areas already under linkage, hold codes for the markets An Supply ships to, and have seasons different enough to give supply almost year round.
Their seasons complement one another: mango peaks March to June, rambutan May to August, pomelo at the end of the year, while dragon fruit and banana run almost continuously. Buyers who need steady supply can combine these items in one buying plan instead of following a single one and accepting a few months without goods.
What we do not do yet
An Supply does not take orders for frozen fruit and does not handle processed fruit products. For items outside the five above, sourcing is possible on request, but it takes time to find a growing area with the right code, so lead times are longer.
